What I Love about the Nespresso Pixie

There are many things to love about the Nespresso Pixie because this product offers dual benefits. For those who want a perfectly color-coordinated kitchen, this Nespresso espresso maker comes in six colors including Persimmon Red or Electric Lime. Not many models offer a selection in terms of style so I was delighted to choose my favorite, Electric Indigo. Though the design was the most appealing feature, there are other reasons to love the Nespresso Pixie.

This espresso maker packs a powerful pump in a compact package which is perfect for small kitchens with limited counter space. There’s also minimal work involved which is ideal for a majority of drinkers who simply don’t have the time to waste before enjoying a shot. I also love that I can choose a larger shot if I anticipate a rough day coming at me. For most people a 1 or 2 ounce shot is enough but it is nice to have the option to take a double without waiting for another brew.

Differences between the Nespresso Pixie and Similar Models

The most noticeable difference between the Nespresso Pixie and other espresso makers is how fast it works. Compared to the average time of about 55-60 seconds, this powerful product does it in half the time. The quick operation comes in handy during those mornings when I am running late but still need a shot to get started. Though the brewing process is quick, there is no burnt smell or bitter taste at all. In fact the result is more than satisfying and makes a great

Complaints, problems with the Nespresso Pixie

After using my Nespresso Pixie espresso maker for a few months, I have noticed a few slight imperfections to the design. First of all, there are occasional leaks when I overuse it and not only that but the water reservoir overflowed a few times as well. The issue is noticeable but I haven’t seen any differences in terms of taste. It is possible that the brewing process varies with each setting and can be irritating to clean when time is of the essence.

Aside from small leaks here and there, the Nespresso Pixie also does not come with a feature to keep the last drops of coffee from coming out. Most of the time I just let the drip tray catch it but it would be nice to have the option to stop the pour whenever I want. Lastly, the coffee capsules required to be used with this espresso maker can get quite expensive if you don’t know where to buy. I purchased mine online so I was able to get a fairly reasonable price but stores will charge much more.

The Ultimate Rundown

Overall, the Nespresso Pixie is a fair product that produces great tasting coffee. While there are a few flaws in its design, the style and color options are appealing. There is also less waiting time involved when brewing with the Pixie because it does the job in half the time of other models. Though the coffee capsules can be pricey at certain offline stores, the Nespresso Pixie espresso maker did the job perfectly for me.

Enjoy the pixie for over a year now but have had several occasions were it prematurely stopped and had to depress the lungo button to complete the cycle. I have run the cleaner through the system. Can you help? Thanks
