Some of the best coffee projects we know of got their start on Kickstarter. From...
I love cutting edge technology and coffee, who would have thought I could combine the two? While searching for a new automatic coffee maker I discovered the Saeco Xelsis Digital ID Automatic Espresso Machine. Digital ID? Yes it includes a digital fingerprint reader so I can program it to make my favorite coffee just by touching a finger on the reader! I was impressed with this feature alone, but this espresso machine offers so much more. The control panel is easy to use and program, the machine is easy to clean and with numerous choices of coffee with or without milk I really like this coffee maker.
Saeco Xelsis Automatic Espresso Machine Product Features:
The Digital ID function of this espresso machine allows me to set up 6 different user profiles recognized by a unique fingerprint. Each profile allows 9 customizable coffee choices which can have a different strength, temperature and amount of milk and froth. Then I can set the flavor and aroma I wish for each drink. No matter what my tastes preferences are the Saeco Xelsis delivers. I think this is pretty cool!
Programmable one-touch button drink options include café latte, espresso, cappuccino, latte and macchiato then my user profile can add my own preferences to each.
Once everything is selected the Saeco Xelsis does it all for you. It grinds, brews, adds steam and froth then pours the coffee straight into the cup. It’s almost too easy!
The grinder is a great design that keeping heat transfer low to preserve the taste of the coffee and it also has an auto shut off for safety. The air tight and UV light resistant bean hopper is also designed to preserve the beans. I can also use pre-prepared coffee such as flavored brands or even decaffeinated coffee in the Espresso Machine. It really is an amazingly versatile coffee maker.
Another great feature is how the coffee maker distributes milk to the cup from a large external container connected to the front of the machine, which automatically froths the milk directly into the cup (it can be detached and stored in the refrigerator to keep the milk fresh). I can now easily make café quality lattes at home.
I also like that it has a manual wand for dispensing steam, froth and hot water, so I can do it myself if I want it for coffee or use it to make a hot cup of tea. The system is designed so that no milk passes through the actual machine and there is an automatic cleaning cycle to keep it frothing and steaming perfectly, so is very easy to keep clean.
Another innovative feature that helps keep the Saeco 104496 clean and producing fresh tasting coffee is that the removable brew group (the engine that produces the coffee) and the used coffee grounds tray are easily accessible from the front of the machine. I can access them from a separate drawer without having to remove the drip tray or milk container and I find it makes the cleaning process so much simpler.
The Saeco Xelsis Automatic Espresso Machine is sturdy and very stylish too, being made with stainless steel and chrome. I really enjoy the different styles of beverage I can make with it and the way it looks suits my kitchen beautifully. This was one of my best purchases of the year.
