Though it is only a machine, it truly accommodates the needs of a busy person like me. I take advantage of the 24-hour timer because my spare time in the morning is scarce. The entire process for me to enjoy my coffee in the morning is virtually eliminated because I set my preferences and brewing time the night before.
Another reason I love the Mr.Coffee BVMC-ZH1B is because of the clear indicators and see-through window. At times certain members of the family brew coffee before I get to it so the coffee level helps me to see whether there is enough left for me. The overall design also includes indicators that show brewing status and whether the machine is on. I especially appreciate the automatic shutoff feature because during hectic mornings, I never have to worry about wasting energy or causing an accidental fire in my house.
The best feature and main reason I love the Mr.Coffee BVMC-ZH1B coffeemaker is that I can pour myself a cup before the entire brew is complete. This is especially handy on weekends when I don’t time the brew. If I suddenly need to step out for an errand, I wouldn’t have to wait for the entire brew to finish. I simply use brew and pause to get my coffee fix before everyone else does.

After trying countless different coffeemakers throughout the years, I was surprised to discover that an affordable machine can do a better job than models that are much more expensive. Typically, a machine in this affordable price range offers only the most basic features and does not include options like brew and pause for example. Not many coffeemakers can give users a wide array of benefits without paying a bundle for it. Even then, you never know when that expensive machine may break down just like cheap brands. The Mr.Coffee BVMC-ZH1B is worth more value than its price tag because it offers a variety of benefits and convenience.

I find it shocking you are so pleased with a unit that is so poorly engineered!
Look anywhere else on the internet for predominately NEGATIVE reviews on it.
Just to touch on a few points:
•See-through window for coffee level is gray/smoke colored: very hard to determine level (and none of the parts are dishwasher safe)
•Keeps coffee warm for only 2 hours, not adjustable.
•3 LOUD beeps on brew cycle completion and upon shut off…nice for those still sleeping!
•Impossible to claim one-hand operation: the stiffness of the paddle will tip the unit over if one doesn’t use their other hand to hold the top when dispensing coffee
•The very LOUD dispensing, which uses a motor instead of simply utilizing gravity
•The spitting/spluttering if one dispenses the last of the reservior will definitely get hot coffe on hand, wrist, countertop, wall, etc. (again, the stupid motorized pump)
•Exceptionally poor design
•Read about the huge number of folks who are on their second or third unit, and it has been only weeks or months since their initial buy…what was the ‘design life’ on these? a year??
Poorly designed, cheaply made, overpriced, and lasts no time!
