Product Description

Keurig bills the B40 Elite as “ideal for entertaining”, but it’s equally ideal for brewing your morning coffee, your afternoon pick-me-up and your after dinner delight. The single cup coffee brewer is designed to brew up a 7.5 to 9.5 ounce cup of coffee in under a minute, which makes it the ideal way to make your morning coffee before you head out the door – or brew up cup after cup for the after-dinner coffee at a dinner party.

The Keurig B40 takes all the guesswork and messwork out of making coffee. Brewing the perfect cup is as simple as opening the lid, dropping in a K-cup, closing the lid and pressing a button. In less than a minute, your coffee is trickling directly into your coffee cup or travel mug. Cleanup is every bit as simple – just eject the K-cup and throw it away.

The Keurig B40 Elite also offers a number of other very handy features, including a descale indicator to tell you when to descale your machine, an auto shut-off that turns the B40 off if it hasn’t been used for two hours, and a 48 ounce water reservoir that’s removable for easy filling at the kitchen sink. The drip tray is also removable, making it easy to clean up overflows and drips.

Pros:

I love the descale indicator that lets me know when it is time to descale the water, and rid it of mineral (chlorine) build up. The descale cleaning packets are roughly around $2.98 each and makes sure that the system is clean and brewing is quick. Too much mineral build up can slow down the brewing process so I prefer to keep mine in tiptop shape. There is no fuss or bother.

To brew my tea or coffee I just open the lid and insert K cup package and voila I am on the way to a great new flavor surprise.

I am still trying out the various flavors. This little unit has about 100 different varieties of tea and coffee K cup flavors. It is like having a new drinking experience every time I use it. My cup of brew is ready in 40 seconds, and I couldn’t do it faster with my old electric kettle.

Cons:

If you are using a big cup (7-8 ounces) you will have to use two K-cup packets though, so it can get a bit pricey. However, shop around for different online vendors and you will get some good deals. Or, you can use the filter option with your own coffee. It will be cheaper but will require cleaning.

The Final Verdict:

For flavor and easy brewing (K-cup packets) you will not find an easier beverage brewer. The system is so quick that it almost instantaneous; a little longer brewing time (40-50 seconds) for large cup sizes. There is an incredible assortment of beverage flavors to choose from thought there is really only two settings, either for dark or light coffee.
