Comfortable Brewing with the Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind and Brew Coffee Maker

The process of brewing coffee has never been easier or more convenient with the Cuisinart DGB-900BC. The grind and brew coffee maker ranks high in the areas of performance, quality of taste, and a wide range of features. Before settling for just any machine, consider all the benefits you can enjoy with this machine. After trying countless others, I have not seen such a great combination in any coffee maker whether expensive or not.

Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind and Brew Coffee Maker

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker offers a capacity of 12 cups and includes a stainless steel carafe which insulates for ultimate freshness. This machine has a built-in automatic burr grinder which works powerfully to grind coffee beans uniformly. The ultimate difference with having this feature is that the extraction of flavors will be enhanced. Many other coffee makers also have grinders built-in but often compromise quality in either one area or another.

There are also programmable settings available on the Cuisinart DGB-900BC which allows you to preset when you want the brew to start. With up to 24 hours to work with, you can preset the brew to start a couple hours ahead if you are running errands, or the night before if you want a relaxing morning without stress. This simple feature allows for extreme flexibility and can accommodate any type of busy schedule.

The quality of taste is enhanced significantly because the Cuisinart DGB-900BC comes with a charcoal water filter and gold-tone permanent filter for maximum flavor. My old machine would always offer inconsistent flavors because the filter was extremely shoddy and all I tasted were the impurities in the tap water. But this coffee maker does a great job of filtering all other flavors out so that all I get is coffee.

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker also comes with customizable settings for grind control which means you can choose how fine the grounds will be. There are also options for level of strengths which means you can have a light-bodied brew or one with bold flavors. On a stressful day I prefer to have a stronger cup and on weekends I just brew a regular strength pot.

Other Beneficial Features

  • Option to turn grind function off
  • Automatic shutoff capability
  • Includes measuring scoop
  • Carafe’s handle has comfort grip
  • Large bean hopper with 8-ounce capacity

There are also many benefits to having the Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker because although there is a built-in grinder, there is also an option to turn it off when you only need to brew. This helps me a lot because I often grind plenty of beans in the large 8-ounce bean hopper ahead of time so I can cut down the time when I am rushing out in the morning.

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker also comes with a measuring scoop to ensure the same consistency every time. With my old machine, I would have to estimate and the brew comes out tasting different each time. There is also a unique capability on this model which will automatically power down when not in use. Countless times I am in a rush and forget to turn off the machine so this feature helps me to save money from energy bills and also to prevent an accident.

A small but smart feature on this coffee maker is the carafe’s handle which has a safety grip that is also comfortable to grasp. This is extremely necessary because when I brew a full pot, the carafe can get heavy and is easier to slip from my hands. The Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker has a great combination of features for a great price.

  1. I found that, over time, oily deposits accumulated at the throat of the hopper, narrowing the entryway into grinder to the point that I was getting very weak coffee. After cleaning all deposit from this area, the beans were able to flow freely and the brew returned to its normal strength.

  2. Loved my Grind & Brew! and then it stopped grinding. I read the manual and cleaned every crevice it allowed me to access. It mentioned a brush – didn’t get one with mine. I can grind beans elsewhere and brew coffee but can not grind in the pot. It sounds like its grinding but nothing comes through.
