Coffee makers may harbor mold and yeast, according to a study by the National Sc...
I’ll readily confess that a kitchen appliance, when it’s on display on my countertop, is an accessory as well, and I don’t like to have an ugly appliance marring my space. Superficial though it sounds, the look of the Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker was one of the factors that first put it in the running when I was initially shopping for my coffee maker. This sleek little unit with its clean, squared-off lines and its black and stainless steel finish, looks great on my counter. But to make the cut and actually join my kitchen line-up, the Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker had to prove its functionality as well, and this model is as friendly in its brewing capabilities as it is in its looks.
Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker Product Features:
The features and detailed control options of the Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker make it a bargain at its selling price; it’s difficult to craft such a perfect cup of coffee even when I give the most specific instructions at my favorite coffeehouse, but all my picky sensibilities are satisfied with the programmed settings I’ve customized on my Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker at home. I can control the brewing temperature as well as the strength of the brew, so my countertop model now knows precisely how to brew my coffee every morning.
I’ve stopped paying five dollars a cup at the coffee shop I used to frequent daily, knowing I can craft the perfect cup at home. In that regard, the Cuisinart DCC-2900 has already paid for itself several times over!
One of the features of the Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker which I hadn’t thought to shop for, but which I now wouldn’t want to do without, is the oversized LCD display, which enables me to see both the clock and the brewing controls before finding my reading glasses in the morning.
I’ve also enjoyed the flexibility offered by the thermal carafe, which doesn’t need to stay “docked” on the machine to keep the coffee at its brewing temperature for long periods. When it’s my turn to host my Bridge group of card-players, we keep the full carafe right at the card table with us, so we can refill our coffee cups without interrupting our play to trek into the kitchen.
Many of the adjustments that were factory pre-set on my previous coffee maker allow me to select settings for myself on the Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker, such as the automatic shut-off of the heating element, which can be set anywhere between zero and four hours. The small-scale brewing setting, designed to brew just one to four cups, is perfect for the mornings when my housemates aren’t home; I don’t have to brew a full pot just for myself, as I used to do with an older machine that didn’t handle small-scale brewing well. And thanks to the self-cleaning capability, I haven’t yet had to get out the scrubbing pads for my Cuisinart DCC-2900 coffee maker. That’s worth the price in itself!
