Philips Senseo HD7810 Coffee Maker
The Philips Senseo HD7810 one cup coffee machine is very affordable with pricing anywhere from $49.96 to $64.00 and is easy to operate. The model is very attractive coming in blue, white, black and a futuristic arched back. The model automatically adjusts water content to make the perfect cup of coffee. The Phillips Senseo HD7810 is popular in Europe.
Product Description:
The Philips Senseo HD7810 has two coffee settings, one for a 4-ounce and the other for an 8-ounce cup size. This unit has a removable water reservoir to make it easy to refill at the sink. The machine requires a 62mm (2.44 inch) capsule (pod), which will hold 8 grams (2.8 ounces). The pod has a single hold that allows the coffee to pass through and at the same time adds a layer of froth that rests on the top. The unit also had a single and double pod holder for bigger or stronger flavored drinks. The Philips Senseo HD7810 is made of plastic and has secure fitting lid that locks. You push it down and hear it click.
You can use the Senseo pods, which come in mild, medium, regular or decaffeinated.
Pros:
You can use other pods in the brewer, but if you are using the single pod, they don’t always fit properly, so you need to use the double pod feature instead. The pods are roughly about .28 cents apiece which is a good price.
I do like that the power light will stop flashing to indicate that the water is ready and you then can insert the pod. The light will flash again once the water has emptied.
The machine is quiet and does not overheat, and you can find spare parts all over the net.
Cons:
I find the machine is pretty limited in that you cannot brew tea or any other beverage other than coffee, which makes it a little less attractive than other brewers on the market at this time. The coffee does not get as hot as I like to drink.
The Final Verdict:
The Philips Senseo HD7810 is a good value for the price of the unit. It is quick brewing user-friendly and cleans easily. Although you can use different pods with this model, you may not be satisfied with the flavor of the coffee produced. If you use different brands you may have to go through a process of trial and error and until you find a pod brand that you like.
