It's a great machine! It's fast, and has a blue LED light to indicate the warming plate is still on, and the flavor of the coffee with the ion filters has improved! I have no complaints about the coffee strength. We add the same amount (7 scoops) of coffee per pot with this maker, as we've done with past coffeemakers, and the flavor has remained virtually the same. We've noted an improved taste of water that's run through the maker, such as for tea, hot cocoa, etc., and that we attribute the the optional ion filter.
