I prefer to have fresh coffee and at home I am currently brewing a small pot every time I want a cup. I prefer to use my own ground beans. I was looking at the Keurig B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System and see that you could also purchase a Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter. I realize this seems like a dumb question, but can I assume that I could put my own ground coffee in the reusable permanent filter, and not have to use the pre-filled coffees that most people use with this coffee maker? I love my coffee, but I hate my coffee maker. Thanks. Deborah

I have the My K-cup and my wife and I just love it. You can use any ground coffee you would like for brewing in the Keurig. The only downside to usingthe My K-cup is having to empty, rinse and refill each time you want a cup of coffee. We don’t mind ourselves because we wanted to use up some of the other coffee beans we have purchased.

I just bought a keurig and the filter for brewing my own freshly ground beans. However, it seems the water runs through so fast that the coffee is very thin and watery. Am I doing something wrong?
