It lasted about a year when it suddenly stop brewing coffee, it makes the drip noise but no hot water is being pumped into the careffe, only steam on the cover plate.

The water is pumped upward into the basket through a plastic water line that hinges with the lid. My unit warped where it hinges and creates a lot of steaming and not much of a water pump into the caraffe. The unit sounds like it is finishing the last of the water in the tank the entire cycle and steam leaks profusely from the top of the unit. Poor design in my opinion and I will not buy another.

I have been using this coffee maker for the past two years primarily in our trailer. It makes a great cup/pot of coffee in an adequate time period. The auto start and variable timed shut-off are great. The "variable" hotplate temperature adds to the length of time before bitterness exceeds palatability.
Two drawbacks are water drips when opening lid to fill with water and ground removal/addition, and the short power cord.
